Brief About Dr. Eze Oka Eze


Dr. Eze Oka Eze coordinates the Institute’s technical and program efforts for epidemic control of HIV/AIDS in Nasarawa State. He directs activities to achieve the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets of ensuring that 95% of people living with HIV know their status, 95% of people who know their status are placed on treatment and 95% of people on treatment are virally suppressed.

He drives continuous quality improvement activities in the provision of services such as HIV testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, laboratory diagnosis, antiretroviral treatment for adults and children as well as care and support for people living with HIV and orphans and vulnerable children.

Dr. Eze leads efforts in the state to strengthen the capacity of the government for a sustainable HIV program and collaborates with stakeholders, sub-partners, and community-based organizations.

His experience in program implementation and public health spans a decade of working in non-governmental organizations. Within IHVN, he has held the positions of Nasarawa State Technical Lead, Quality Improvement Team and Enhanced Site Management Lead for the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital and Third 95 Lead. His areas of expertise are in epidemiology, policy development, and advocacy in global health and implementation science.

Dr Eze is an alumnus of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria, and Lincoln University Malaysia, where he earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s in Public Health respectively. He has also participated in various trainings within and outside the country.

His hobbies are listening to music, football, and comedy and he is married with children.
